SUNNYVALE, CA. - 23 July 2015 - Single-Sourcing Solutions is pleased to announce that with the 7.0 release PTC Arbortext Editor’s DITA support and shipped document types have been updated to support the upcoming 1.3 version of the DITA standard.
The DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) standard was pioneered at IBM and is sponsored by OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards), a not-for-profit, international consortium that drives the development, convergence, and adoption of e-business standards.
The 7.0 F000 Release Notes have this to say:
All DITA 1.x documents are compatible in PTC Arbortext Editor. Documents created from document types based on DITA 1.2 can be parsed, opened, edited and published with PTC Arbortext Editor 7.0 and DITA 1.3. Documents based on DITA 1.3 document types can be handled in earlier 1.x versions, provided they do not contain any constructs introduced in DITA 1.3.
Document types based on DTDs have been updated to DITA 1.3. Document types based on schemas, including those provided by the Technical Information Application, remain at DITA 1.2.
Note: The DITA specification included in help describes version 1.2 of the DITA standard. This will be updated when version 1.3 of the standard is formally approved for release. The draft specification is available online.
